China Trip 2008 - Day 7

Lost my mobiles
Backed to hotel and found that my 2 mobile phones were not inside my pocket. Tried to search my laptop bag and the room but not able to find them. Last used the mobile was in company bus and SMS. Tried my luck to call HR colleague and contact the company bus driver to check the bus. Fortunately the mobile were in the bus. Otherwise, I lost all my contact.

Food Again
Tried cold potato noodle before? Very nice.

China Trip 2008 - Day 6.2

Broke Now

Today happy shopping and eating. Spent all my RMB$. Only left RMB$300 to buy ferry ticket back to Hong Kong on Friday. How to survive without cash? 1st time feel so hopeless and helpless without cash when travel.

The next 5 days I only can have my dinner in hotel because no cash and I can’t eat outside. Fortunately hotel has International Restaurant, American Restaurant, Japanese Restaurant and Chinese Restaurant. So, every day I can have difference kind of food for dinner.

Went to the Window of The World in Shen Zhen alone. Tried the food there for lunch. Quite good.

Driver: It is nice to stay in such good but expensive hotel.
Me: Expensive? It’s not. Only RMB$380 per night.
Driver: Do you know the average basic salary for people in Dongguan is RMB$650 per month? Not even enough to pay for 2 nights stay.
Me: ………! (shame on myself for what I just said).

China Trip 2008 - Day 4

Tried the Taiwanese hot pot for dinner tonight. Too greedy, my colleague and I ordered 6 set of meats because 1 beef set + 1 sea food set + 1 vegetable set is only RMB$125 (SG$25). Therefore, we ordered 4 sets for 2 people. We couldn’t finish all the food. Wasted.
