I'm Busy.....Yeah U will Say NOT Only Me

Recently feel quite tired everyday. Reason, don’t know. Maybe is due to bad sleeping habit which is wake up after few hours sleep and then not able to sleep again.

Have many projects handling now. One major project for tomorrow is database split. After that, every weekend the source system databases upgrade. October I have major projects. November is 2 weeks business trip and December is on 2 weeks personal trip. Together with all the small projects and ah-projects, there are a lot of projects.

Also, I have another baby on hand which is the Recreation Committee (RC) in my office. Tried hard to step down yesterday but too bad there is no1 wants to take over the post. With really no choice, I have to hold it back.

2 more activities in this year for the RC is Standard Charter Marathon (need to organize 2 practice runs & order company t-shirt) & the D & D (most likely I will change it to Staff Night in a good root top bar or else where).

Also, now is budget period. Need to do budgeting for my work and also for the RC.

Look at the list; I really have a lot of works to do.

The Family Day - 21 Aug 2010

As a chairman for office Recreation Committee (RC), must organize some events. Since more than 10 years the office didn’t have family day, so decided to organize it.

It is not easy to organize any event. What every suggestion have you, for sure there will have negative feedback. Human being is greedy and never have enough for whatever we offer.

Beside handling human’s need problems, also need to handle the team members. Must know how to encourage them to be involve in RC activities. Serious, we have weak RC team. Members in the team are busying with our day to day tasks. To handle any big project or event, it is going to kill us because a lot of time is needed. Therefore, people will get frustrated when they are busying with work and at the same time need to do RC works as well.

Also, during the planning and preparation, some unexpected issues also need us to handle. Like the token (mini fan) for the goodies bag didn’t have enough stock in Singapore. Needed to use DHL and shipped from China. The venue in Café de Mar also caused us enough headache. After booked the venue and sent the invitation to every1, the Café told me at the same time the same venue also rented to Music by the Beach. The stage was going to occupy hug space in the private area we reserved. Fortunately, after Music by the Beach set up the stage, the situation wasn’t that bad.

Included other problems, this event was good enough to kill me.

My 1st Suggestion (complaint) Mail to A Bank

I am upset with the phone banking service that provided by a internation bank (oversea bank).
So angry, that's why i wrote the 1st suggestion (complaint) mail to the bank.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to give a suggestion/comment regarding to my experience with XXX Bank phone banking service today (18th August 2010).

Generally, I have great and enjoyable experience with XXX Bank phone banking. However, I am a bit upset with what I experience today.

Today at around 11:40PM and I called to check the status of my application (SGR49-3611) for XXX card. I did apply the card on 17th August and got a SMS regarding to the card was going to courier to me on 18th August 2010.

I believe it might be due to delay for mailing; I didn’t get the card on 18th August 2010. That’s the reason why I called XXX Bank phone banking (1800-789-7000) and tried to confirm:
1) If the card has been sent
2) A delay or hold back for the card application
3) If the mailing address is correct. In case the card sent to wrong address

Unexpected, the feedback that given to me was with unpleasure tone and not considering helpful suggestion by the phone banker who served me.

Pardon me for using some negative words (unpleasure tone & not considering helpful) here. However, I believe you understand that when a customer is worrying about there is a possibility that if the card is lost or sent to wrong address, he/she will call the bank and hope can get some helpful solutions/feedbacks but not some unhelpful answers with unpleasure tone.

My suggestion is there is a theory name: LEAN Methodology; one of the initiatives is Customer Focus. If possible, you may consider to include this initiative into your company’s staffs training course (especially for phone banking department).

Food Again

Had this “just ok” cheese cake in TCC @ Kinokuniya Nee Ann City after my 5 hours “reading trip”. It was nice to have a café inside the book shop. At least I can have a break with a cup of coffee and cake and continue my “reading trip” again. Happened to go to TCC @ Paragon. Tried dinner there. Can not say good but not bad. Best thing is TCC always empty and don’t need to Q during dinner time. Good for people like me who doesn’t like to Q and get a seat in a restaurant.

Back to Bali - August 2010 (3)

People in Bali are happy people. They live in a wonderful land where is rich of food and happiness. Can you imaging you live at a place where you can have relaxing life and no need to be too worried about your living?

Btw, already booked the air ticket for my 3rd trip to Bali in August 2011.

One good thing to go Bali is can try nice food. Generally, the food price is cheaper than in Singapore. Of course, some are the same price as in Singapore because of the standard of the restaurant. For local food, it is always good and reasonable price. Traditional Black Beef Soup

Back to Bali – Aug 2010 (1)

After 9 months, I went back to Bali for my 2nd trip. Did book the air ticket in February. Couldn’t believe I have the patient to wait 6 months for this trip.

Really didn’t have any idea what to do in Bali this time. Just wanted to go there and DO NOTHING. In the end, I really did NOTHING there except for SHOPPING and EATING everyday.
