The World Wonders # 8 and # 9 in Singapore

Discussed with my colleagues about 2 social issues or “cultures” in Singapore. I would like to nominate them: The World Wonders # 8 and # 9 in Singapore.

World Wonder Number 8: Majority People in Singapore Are Blind

Many people know that the yellow line out side the MRT door/gate means: Please give way to people to get out from the train before you get in. However, if you monitor people in the MRT station, 60-70% of them are “BLIND”, so they “CAN NOT SEE” the yellow lines.
I took this photo in Raffles Place MRT station today. We can see many people stand inside the yellow lines and block the door (so sorry that most of them are ladies). Because of this, in Singapore, it is interesting that people in side the train can not get out and people out side the train can not get in.

I can’t comment those people who stand inside the yellow lines are non-educated because I am sure they are not. The only comment I can give is this is Education Failure in this country.

World Wonder Number 9: Use Tissue to “Chorp” Seat
I have traveled more than 70 cities around the world; Singapore is the only city/country has this kind of culture: Use tissue to “chorp”seat. This means: “I put my tissue here. This seat/table is mine. No1 allows to touch/use it (by “LAW”??? I am wondering). This is another example of Education Failure in this country.

By the way, what people do make me link to what dog does. Dog likes to pee here and there. It means: I pee here and there. This area is mine. No1 allows to come in (by “LAW”??? For sure the answer is NO). Don’t you think use tissue to “chorp” seat is same as use uric to “chorp territory?

Of course, people in Singapore are SMARTER than a dog. They won’t go to food courts and pee on the seat/table. They use tissue.

I "stole" this picture from my colleague’s blog. So sorry, is lady again. I can count 4 tissues packs so it means the seat “chorp” by 4 people.
P.S why I use “people in Singapore” but not Singaporean? Reason is people who do that may not be only Singaporean. Some of them may be foreigners. To be able to “LIVE” like some of the Singaporean, foreigners must adopt the cultures in Singapore: To be BLIND or use tissue to “CHORP” seat.

so what! we sporeans not only blind we like to try away money like SGD$16million which is only 0.8percent. We also fight in the bus and call people chicken. best of all we like to increase mrt fare and throw sporeans into the train to pack like sandwiches and no one dare to complain. at the same time encourage people not to drive and all become sandwiches which is world class public sandwich transport

Yes, agree with you for the public transportation service.

Singapore keeps mentioning it is a world class country with world class public transportation service.

When compare with other cities, for MRT service, in Hong Kong, people wait 2 minutes for the train even though when after midnight. In Singapore, people wait 9-13 minutes when is “off-peak” period like 7PM (in Singapore, after 7PM is considered off-peak when other cities call themselves “the city never sleep” or “tonight is still young’).

For bus service is more classic. It keeps you wait for half an hour during peak hour like 8-9AM. However, you only able to "see" the bus but never able to get into it. Reason is: "Sorry, the bus is full. Please wait for the next available bus".

With this kind of world class service, of course people in Singapore must pay world class fare. So, it is reasonable to keep increasing the fare but make you wait longer and longest for the bus or MRT.

abt the SGD$16 millions, u dare to question the management or go to the Speaker Corner and talke about it? I challenge you, YOU DARE NOT.
