Cambodia : 2008 to 2009 (Day 2)

2nd day was free and easy trip. A bit crazy, we went to 11 itineraries until we’re VERY VERY tired. However, it was really fun.

1. Angkor Wat Sun Rise -12th Century
In the early morning at 5am, we went to see sun rise in Angkor Wat. People are queuing for the officers to check their visitor pass. 1 pass can enter almost all the itineraries in Siem Reap. When reached Angkor Wat, the sky was still dark. I was so happy and ask LL and J to give me 5 coz finally we were in Angkor Wat. Too bad it was a cloudy day. No sun rise view.
2. Banteay Kdei - 12th Century
A temple that built by one of the Kings during Angkor Kingdom. It is for the king’s father.
3. Srah Srang Lake – 12th Century
It is a man made lake and for the king to take bath. Maybe u are wondering why the king needed a lake for bathing. Check the 2nd photos and u will know why.
4. Banteay Srei – 10th Century.
It is about 1 hour away from Angkor Wat which is well know with the fine and neat graving.
This is called Door-Farme
The land mine victims played misic for earning their living.

5. Palm Tree Sugar Making
We visited how people make the palm tree sugar. One of the unique products in Cambodia.
We gave some stationaries to the palm sugar saler's kids. What a big family.
6. Pre Rup – 10th Century.
7. Banteay Samre – 10th Century.
Let me introduce, this is HAPPY. He is J’s baby. Can u see 苏慧伦 autography on his heart? I bought the Ancient Angkor so he can reads. :)

Angkor Thom: Below places are in Angkor Thom

8. Ta Prohm – 12th Century
Built by the same king who built Banteay Kdei. This temple is for his mother.

This is one of the most wanted place I wanted to visit beside Angkor Wat because of the roots on the temples and Buddha’s heads.

9. South Gate – 12th Century
One of the gates which was for people to get in and out to the kingdom.
Angkor Thom has 5 gates: South Gate is Live Gate, one is Victory Gate, and one is Dead Gate. Another 2 I don’t reminder. U can check in Internet.

10. Elephant Terrace – 12th Century
Where the kings used to play for elephants fighting.

11. Bayon Temple – 12th Century
One of the well known temples in Angkor Wat. Has 58 towers on it. Each tower has the face of 4 faces Buddha – Brahma.
Dinner
Searched for dinner at Old Market. So excited when found the USD$0.50 glass Angkor Beer.
We tried the tu-tu in Cambodia.
